About this product
Enhance your building envelope with ROCKWOOL Comfortboard®, a rigid stone wool insulation board that provides exceptional fire protection, energy efficiency, and versatility.
Available in two product options to support specific structural requirements for your next project, Comfortboard 80 and Comfortboard 110 products are used with screws through strapping and insulation cladding support systems.
Comfortboard enables the creation of safer, more comfortable buildings that resist moisture and reduce energy costs. It's engineered for use as exterior continuous insulation in both above-grade and below-grade exterior walls, under-slab applications, stucco assemblies, and pitched roofs.
- Noncombustible and fire resistant
- Water and moisture repellent
- Vapor Permeable to support drying
- Excellent acoustic performance
- Dimensional stability to maintain performance
- Inorganic, does not promote mold growth
Why use stone wool insulation
- Noncombustible and fire resistant, stone wool works to contain a fire and prevent its spread.
- Vapor permeable enabling wall systems to have superior drying potential, minimizing the risk of condensation and water accumulation.
- Stable long-term R-values for superior thermal performance.
- Superior compressive resistance and compatible with screw-through mechanically-supported cladding systems.
- Reduces thermal bridging through wood framing, leading to a higher-performing building envelope.
- Stone wool provides excellent noise reduction and sound absorption to help you create quieter, more productive environments.
Applications
- Installed in above-grade walls as continuous exterior insulation (ci).
- Below-grade exterior-insulated foundation walls and basements.
- Under flat concrete slabs.
- One-coat and three-coat insulated stucco cladding.
- Wood-framed cathedral ceilings.
Comfortboard® continuous insulation applications
ROCKWOOL Comfortboard® covers all your needs, above, below and beyond from continuous above-grade insulation to under slab to roofs—for endless versatility.
Minimizing thermal bridging
ROCKWOOL Comfortboard is optimized for insulating above-grade exterior walls, offering comprehensive solutions for residential and commercial construction. As a continuous insulation board, it minimizes thermal bridging, maintaining energy efficiency and comfort.
Comfortboard's acoustic properties reduce noise, enhancing interior comfort, and is moisture resistant and vapor permeable, preventing condensation and mold growth within exterior walls. Noncombustible and fire resistant, Comfortboard supports safe and durable design, making it an essential choice for effective insulation.
Stucco compatible
Comfortboard is a component of both one-and three-coat insulated-stucco assemblies, providing additional solutions to exterior walls.
Below-grade approved
Comfortboard is tested and approved as a continuous layer of insulation in basement walls, on the exterior face of foundation walls and under concrete slabs to improve thermal performance and durability.
Roof
Complete your building envelope with Comfortboard on pitched roofs and in cathedral ceilings.
